In addition to being cleansed, crystals also need to be recharged with energy. The natural energy within a crystal is not limitless and will dwindle with use and over time, having been influenced by anything that it is used for. When crystals are still part of the earth, they are able to naturally draw energy from it, but once removed it loses this capability.  Instead, the energy must be replenished by those who use and care for them.  There are multiple methods that can be used for charging crystals, below are six of the most common.  It is best to use intuition to guide you as to the most appropriate method:

• Place the crystal in the direct line of moon light for 24 hours (works well with all crystals and is especially powerful when performed on a new or full moon).

• Place the crystal in the direct line of sun light for 24 hours (*Amber, Aventurine, Amethyst, Aquamarine, Beryl, Citrine, Fluorite, Kunzite, Opal, Rose Quartz, Sapphire, and Smoky Quartz crystals do not react well to sunlight and should not be charged using this method).

• Place either Selenite or Quartz crystals on top of the crystal for 24 hours or until its energy is purified. 

• Place the crystal in a healthy garden bed or flower pot for 24 hours or until its energy is purified.

• Bury the crystal in the ground for between 24 hours and one week, depending on the energy intended to be infused.

• Expose the crystal to loud sounds, such as bells, vocal toning, drums, tuning forks, singing bowls, gongs, or any other source of loud noise.
