POWER OF CRYSTALS

Crystals are unique stones that throughout history have been thought to hold special healing and purifying powers. Traditionally, medicine men, alchemists, priests, and magicians would draw on the symbolism and power of crystals to aid them in their work, whether they were involved with healing the physical, emotional, or spiritual bodies.

Today, crystals are recognised as powerful tools that have the ability to energise, soothe, cleanse, heal, protect, transform, and inform the energy fields they come into contact with.  The power of crystals lies in their ability to amplify the energy behind desires and align personal vibrations with intentions, in turn, helping to manifest healing and wishes.

Healing crystals (“crystal” is the recognised term for gemstones, precious stones, rocks and minerals that are used in healing practices) are not a replacement for conventional or natural medicine, but can be a great supplement to self-care regimens, particularly when used in conjunction with essential oils.

Crystals can be chosen based on feeling or for their specific healing and/or spiritual meaning.  If your chosen method is feeling, then pay particular attention to intuition when holding the stones in your hands or browsing through images.  If you feel very much drawn to a particular crystal/s, it is likely, that on some level, it has something to offer you and will be beneficial to your life.

After acquiring crystals, it is considered important to first cleanse, program, and finally charge the crystals.  There are several methods available for cleansing and charging crystals, programming crystals is very simple.  Hold the crystal, quiet your mind and offer your intention to the crystal, for example, “I wish to use this crystal to help stimulate the healing of……”.

To ensure crystals continue to work on behalf of the greatest good, they should be stored in a safe place.  Although not necessary, it can be helpful to store crystals with selenite to prevent them from absorbing any negative energy in the future. A good substitute for selenite if you cannot find it is carnelian.
